Connect Modula to ChatGPT
ChatGPT lets you add external tools through a feature called connectors. Once Modula is connected, ChatGPT can browse the component library and generate interactive educational content for you.
What you’ll need
- A ChatGPT account (Plus, Pro, or Team plan)
- A Modula account — sign up here
Steps
1. Open ChatGPT settings
Go to chat.openai.com and sign in. Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner, then select Settings.
2. Go to the Connectors section
In the settings panel, find the Connectors tab (also listed as Connected tools in some versions). This is where you manage external tools that ChatGPT can use.
3. Add Modula
Click Add connector and paste the following address into the field:
https://mcp.modula.dev/mcp ChatGPT will read the available tools from that address automatically.
4. Authorise the connection
You’ll be redirected to Modula to log in and confirm the connection. Once you approve, ChatGPT will have access to the Modula component library.
5. Start a new chat
Open a new conversation in ChatGPT. You can now ask it to build educational content with Modula components. Try something like:
“Using Modula, create a lesson on the water cycle with an intro paragraph, an image placeholder, and a 4-question quiz.”
Tips
- You only need to set up the connection once — it stays active for future chats.
- If you don’t see the connector option, check that your plan supports custom tools.
- To remove the connection at any time, return to Settings → Connectors and disconnect Modula.
