Connect Modula to Cursor

Cursor is an AI-powered code editor with built-in MCP support. Once Modula is connected, you can ask Cursor to generate interactive educational content directly from the editor using natural language.

What you’ll need

In Cursor, open the Settings panel with ⌘ , (Mac) or Ctrl , (Windows/Linux). Then navigate to Features → MCP.

2. Add Modula as an MCP server

Click Add new MCP server and fill in the fields:

URLhttps://mcp.modula.dev/mcp

Confirm by clicking Save.

3. Authenticate with Modula

The first time Cursor calls a Modula tool, it will open a browser window to complete the Modula login flow. Sign in with your Modula account and grant permission.

4. Use Modula in Composer or Chat

Open Cursor’s Composer (⌘ I or Ctrl I) or the Chat panel and try:

Cursor will invoke the Modula tools automatically to search, select, and assemble the components.

Tips

  • You can verify the connection is active by checking the MCP section in Settings — the Modula server should show a green status indicator.
  • To remove the connection, return to Settings → Features → MCP and delete the Modula entry.
  • If authentication fails, try disconnecting and reconnecting the server to restart the OAuth flow.
